Pre & Post Event Massage
PROFESSIONAL MASSAGE THERAPY • EASINGWOLD, NORTH YORKSHIRE
Whether you have a race, a match, a sporting event, or any demanding physical challenge ahead of you — or behind you — targeted massage at the right moment can make a meaningful difference to how your body prepares and how it recovers.
Pre and post event massage are two distinct treatments, each with a clear purpose. Together, they form a complete approach to supporting performance and recovery.
Who it's for
Anyone preparing for or recovering from a sporting event, race, competition, or intense physical challenge. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or taking on your first 5K, your body deserves the best possible support.

Pre-Event Massage • Preparing your body
Performed in the days or hours before your event, pre-event massage uses brisk, stimulating, energising techniques to warm up the muscles, increase blood flow, and prepare the body for the demands ahead. It's not about deep work — it's about waking the body up, improving flexibility, and helping you arrive at your event feeling ready and focused.
Benefits
- Warms and activates the muscles ahead of strenuous activity
- Enhances circulation and nutrient delivery to working muscles
- Improves flexibility and joint mobility
- Reduces the risk of injury during the event
- Supports mental focus and calm readiness for performance
Post-Event Massage • Supporting your recovery
Given soon after your event or workout, post-event massage shifts the focus entirely to recovery. Using slower, gentler, more soothing techniques, I work to ease the muscles down, support the removal of metabolic waste, and help your body begin the process of repair and restoration. It's one of the kindest things you can do for yourself after pushing hard.
Benefits
- Reduces post-exercise muscle soreness and fatigue
- Supports the removal of metabolic waste such as lactic acid
- Relieves tightness and helps restore muscle length
- Promotes healing through improved circulation and oxygen delivery
- Addresses muscular imbalances that can develop during sustained activity
Pre-event massage: 20 minutes. Post-event massage: 30 minutes.
