Deep Tissue Massage
PROFESSIONAL MASSAGE THERAPY • EASINGWOLD, NORTH YORKSHIRE
Some tension lives on the surface. But some has been there for a long time, buried in deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, resistant to lighter touch, quietly limiting the way you move and feel. Deep tissue massage is designed to reach it.
Using slow, sustained, and purposeful pressure, I work carefully into the deeper muscle structures to release adhesions, what are often called "knots", ease chronic tension, and restore freer, more comfortable movement. It is firm work, but it should never feel brutal. I always work within your comfort level and check in throughout the treatment.
What to expect
Deep tissue massage uses slow, deliberate strokes and targeted pressure applied across and along the muscle grain. You may feel some discomfort in areas of significant tension, this is normal, and a sign the treatment is reaching where it needs to. Any discomfort should always feel productive rather than painful. Please always tell me if you need me to ease off, your comfort is my priority throughout.
You may notice some tenderness in the treated areas for a day or two afterwards, followed by a significant sense of release and ease. Drinking plenty of water after your treatment will support your body's recovery.
Who it's for
Deep tissue massage is particularly well suited to those with chronic muscle tension, persistent pain, stiffness from postural habits or desk work, or areas that haven't responded to lighter massage. It's also a popular choice for athletes and physically active people dealing with recurring tightness.
